Meet Dr. Timothy Planty, OD

Dr. Timothy Planty received his Associate of Science degree in 1975 from Lee College in Baytown as a Distinguished Scholar, after serving in the United States Army, where he was trained as an optician. Next, he received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the University of Houston in 1977 and his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1979.

In 1992, he received his therapeutic certification and practiced in Baytown for 36 years. He was a member in good standing with the local Houston Area Optometric Society, serving as both Secretary and President. He was also a past member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Planty has been a member of the Rotary Club of Baytown since 2006, where he served as President during the 2014–2015 calendar year. As a Rotarian, he participated in mission trips to Guerrero, Mexico on several occasions, helping provide needed eye and vision services.

His special fields of interest include comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, conventional and specialty contact lenses, and the treatment of ocular diseases and minor procedures. Dr. Planty values building solid relationships with his patients and providing them with the most thorough eye care possible.

When he is not in the office, Dr. Planty enjoys visiting family and friends, traveling, and playing golf in his spare time.
